MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragon basketball teams will continue Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action on the road this weekend after a two week break.
Due to inclement weather in the region, the Dragons will travel to Mankato on Monday and Marshall on Tuesday to face the Mavericks of Minnesota State Mankato and Southwest Minnesota State. The women will tip-off at 6 p.m. both nights while the men are scheduled to start at 8 p.m.

DRAGON WOMEN
The Dragon women are coming off a huge win over the No. 16 Augustana Vikings in their final game of 2010, moving their overall record to 7-2 and 4-1 in the league.
Angie Jetvig continues to lead the Dragons and the NSIC as she is averaging 19.9 points per game, over three points more per game than the next scoring leader in the league. She has led the team in scoring in all but one game and has also led the team in rebounding in five games, as she averages 8.0 rebounds per game.
Freshman
Haley Thomforde has also made a big impact at point guard thus far this season as she has tallied 37 assists and 15 steals. She is averaging 5.9 points and 3.6 rebounds per game, the second most points and rebounds among the rookies.
Megan Strese leads the first year Dragons as she averages 7.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in her rookie campaign. Strese picked up her career high 15 rebounds against Queens (N.Y.) in Pheonix in the second game of the season.
Rounding out the starting line up are Marissa Yernatich and
Betsy Dickson who are both averaging 8.8 points per game. It is the highest Dickson has averaged in her career, while Yernatich has the most three-pointers on the team and is fourth in the league.
DRAGON MEN
The Dragons come off a big comeback victory over Augustana in the final game of 2010 where
Jake Driscoll had 16 points and
Alex Novak grabbed 13 boards to lead the team. This moved MSUM's record to 6-3 overall and 3-2 in the conference.
MSU Moorhead has had four different scoring leaders in nine games this season, with all five starters averaging in double figures. The team is being led by Driscoll, as he averages 13.7 points per game and he also has 22 assists this year.
Novak leads the league in rebounding and blocked shots as he has pulled down 100 boards this season averaging 11.1 per game while blocking 21 shots, 2.33 blocks per game. He also averages a double-double with 10.8 points per game.
Dennis Williamson trails Driscoll as he averages 13.0 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game.
Tarell Clark is averaging 12.8 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per contests after starting all nine games as a transfer.
Charlie Chapman has started eight of the games this season as he averages 10.9 points per game.
MINNESOTA STATE UNIVERSITY MANKATO MAVERICKS
Two years after winning the NCAA DII National Championship, the Maverick women are having a less than stellar season as they are 2-4 in league play and 5-5 overall.
After starting their season 3-0 they suffered four straight losses and have went 2-1 since breaking their losing streak. Most recently, the Mavericks suffered a 69-61 loss to Winona State.
The Maverick women are led by Ali Wilkinson who averages 10.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Laura Weber is also another threat at the post as she is averaging 8.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
The Maverick men's team are currently ranked No. 16 nationally after putting together a 9-1 overall and 5-1 league record thus far this season, jumping six spots in the final poll of 2010. Their only loss in league play coming to the hands of St. Cloud State by two on the road.
Mason Jefferson is leading the Mavericks as he is averaging 16.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Marcus Hill and Cameron Rogers are also putting up double figures as they average 16.0 and 12.1 points per game, respectively.
SOUTHWEST MINNESOT STATE MUSTANGS
The Mustang women's team is 2-8 overall this season and have managed one win in league play, topping Augustana in the league opener. They have since lost five straight including a 2010 ending loss to Upper Iowa, 53-49.
The Mustangs are lead by Tori Fink, Abby Kenealy and Taylor Voss who are averaging 11.7, 11.1 and 11.0 points per game, respectively.
The Mustang men, 5-5 overall and 2-4 in the league, are currently on a four game losing streak. They lost their final game of 2010 in overtime to Upper Iowa, 75-74.
Jordan Miller and Scott Roehl are leading the Mustangs as they both average double figures in scoring this season. Miller leads the team with 16.0 points per game and has 24 assists registered. Roehl is grabbing 9.6 boards per game to lead the team while putting in an average of 14.9 points.
