Bemidji, Minn. – The Dragons headed on their second road trip of the season. The first test was with the Bemidji State Beavers. The Beavers tough defense proved to be the deciding factor as the Beavers shutout the Dragons 3-0.

Both goalkeepers were tested early and often but it was the Beavers who broke through first as Alysha Domiano put in an early header off a crossing pass from Kara Smyth for her first goal of the season at the 20:41 mark of the game. Both goalkeepers were solid the rest of the first half and the Dragons found themselves down 1-0 at halftime.

The Dragons first two shots were turned away early but the Beavers second attempt found its mark as Ashlee Ellefsen knocked in a goal from Samantha Lumberg at the 61:02 mark of the contest to put the Beavers up 2-0.

The Beavers struck for one more at the 78:20 mark to cap off the game with a final of 3-0. The Dragons fall to 0-5 on the season (0-1 NSIC) and will take on the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs on Sunday at 1 p.m.
