Dragons Look To Even Up Conference Record Against Marauders

| By:
MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons wrestling team goes right back on the road in their conference schedule as they head to Bismarck, (N.D.) to take on the U-Mary Marauders at 7 p.m. tonight. The Maruaders mark the first unranked team the Dragons have faced so far this season.

The Dragons come off a conference opening loss to the Augustana (S.D.) Vikings on the road. The biggest match in the dual was at 141 pounds that saw redshirt senior Brady Schneeberger defeat No. 1 ranked Jay Sherer for the second straight time. Schneeberger also defeated Sherer in the Super III Regional championship match last spring.

The Maruaders come into the match 0-4 on the season (0-2 NSIC). The Marauders have only won two matches in their opening two duals and have been outscored 120-35 on the season. The Marauders will look to lean on No. 6 ranked 184-pounder Brady Anderson to gain them valuable points against a split Dragons squad of veterans and talented young guns.

In their last meeting the Dragons won six of the first seven matches and seven total to defeat the Marauders by a final of 25-16 which gave them their first conference win of the season.

The Dragons will look to even up their conference record with a win over the Marauders before returning to MSUM to open up their home schedule against the Minnesota State Mankato Mavericks Thursday.
