MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragon volleyball team defeated the Golden Eagles of the University of Minnesota Crookston tonight
3-0 (29-27, 25-21, 25-19).
Returning to Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse is just what the doctor ordered for the Dragons after coming off a 3-0 loss to Wayne State on Oct. 15. The team shone in all positions.
Junior defensive specialist
Katy Ness was honored tonight for reaching the landmark of 1,000 digs earlier this season. Ness who chipped in 24 digs for the Dragons tonight currently sits at over 1,200 digs in her career.
Junior outside hitter
Heidi Lensing was chosen as tonight's played of the game. Leading the team she put down 10 kills and hustled after nine digs.
Other key contributors on the night were junior setter
Anna Olson with 36 assists and 12 digs, freshman middle blocker
Maggie Gruber with 10 kills and two block assists and freshman outside hitter
Annie Palmquist had 11 kills.
