ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Playoff-bound St. Cloud State University scored on its first three possessions and closed the books on the 2011 Dragon football season with a 47-14 victory over Minnesota State University Moorhead at Husky Stadium on
Saturday.
Michael Walker jumpstarted the Husky offense with three quick touchdowns to lift SCSU to a secure 33-7 halftime spread. In all, the Huskies would build a 444-185 total offense advantage and lift their overall record to 9-2. MSU Moorhead exited with a seven-game losing streak and an overall mark of 2-9.
Kevin Koch completed six of 10 passes for 87 yards and one touchdown before leaving with an injury late in the first half while
Bryson Pluta completed five of 10 passes in a relief role.
Kendall Hendon caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from Koch in the first period and E'boni Lucious-West rushed for a 4-yard TD in the fourth quarter.
Jeff Schuette closed his four-year starting career with 13 tackles, including one for loss.
Terrell Ayers,
Antonio Hardy-Dundy and
Tyler Brody had eight tackles each for the Dragons.
Saturday's road loss also marked the final collegiate appearance for 18 Dragon seniors.
