MOORHEAD, Minn. – Tonight the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragon volleyball team defeated the Bemidji State Beavers with ease for the second time this season 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-17).
The Dragons controlled the game from start to finish during the first and second sets as they easily took the victory. However, the third match looked like it was going to be a close one during the first seven points. The teams were neck and neck, but the Dragons were able to pull away and take the set 25-17.
Freshman outside hitter
Annie Palmquist lead the team tonight as the Papa John's Player of the Game. Palmquist had 12 kills out of 17 attempts giving her a .706 hitting percentage. She also chipped in one block assist.
Junior middle blocker
Meredith Egeland also posted some big numbers for the team as she put down eight kills, had eight digs, and teamed up for seven block assists.
Other contributors for the Dragons were defensive specialists junior
Katy Ness with 24 digs and freshman
Angie Waller with 14 digs. Junior setter
Anna Olson lead all setters for the night with 35 assists and six digs.
The Dragons (12-12, 10-7 NSIC) take their home court tomorrow night for the last time this season as they host the No. 1 team in the nation, the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs, at 4 p.m.
