CROOKSTON, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragon volleyball team opens regular season play 1-0 after defeating the Golden Eagles of the University of Minnesota Crookston 3-2 (20-25, 25-20, 25-27, 25-22, 16-14).
After UMC took the first set 20-25, MSU Moorhead fought back to win the second set 25-20. The Golden Eagles bounced back to win the hard fought third set 25-27. However, the Dragons were not shut down. They came back to win the next two sets 25-22, and 16-14.
Outside hitter
Heidi Lensing lead the way for the Dragons with 19 kills and 12 digs. Junior setter
Anna Olson put up 56 assists and 19 digs while junior middle hitter
Meredith Egeland put down 16 kills.

Morgan Gradishar and freshman outside hitter
Annie Palmquist both tailed up 11 kills for the Dragons.
The Dragons now 3-5 on the season will next see action Sept. 16-17 against the Beavers at Bemidji State University and the Bulldogs at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
