MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead football team will conclude its 2012 season on Saturday at home against St. Cloud State. Game time is 1 p.m. at Alex Nemzek Stadium in Moorhead, Minn.
Dragon fans can listen to the game on 106.9 the Eagle, with
Steve d'Eustachio and Larry Scott on the call.
Saturday's game will mark the 58th meeting between the two schools. MSUM has lost the last five meetings.

MSUM (1-9) is coming off of a 35-25 loss at Bemidji State, while St. Cloud State (6-4) pummeled Minot State, 57-10 in Minot, N.D.

About MSUM
MSUM had a solid showing but two fourth-quarter touchdowns by Bemidji State proved to be the difference as the Beavers prevailed, 35-25 in the annual Battle for the Axe in Bemidji, Minn., on Nov. 3. Freshman quarterback
Jake Hodge threw for 155 yards while rushing for 67 yards before leaving late in the third quarter with an injury. Freshman
Zayne Medhaug rushed for two touchdowns, while tight end
Shawn Marlowe caught six passes for 92 yards. On defense, freshman
Shea DeJong led the way with 11 tackles.
For the season, Hodge has thrown for 1,423 yards and six touchdowns, while sophomore
Brandon Schell, who missed the Bemidji game with an illness, has rushed for 314 yards and two touchdowns. Freshman
Adam Jiskra has caught 39 passes for 605 yards and five touchdowns, all team-bests. MSUM averages 14.7 points per game and throws for 177 yards per game. The Dragons rush for 77.5 yards per contest.
On defense, DeJong leads the way with 111 tackles, while sophomore
Nick Seedorff has 87 tackles. DeJong, Seedorff and senior Sheldon Jones lead the team with two interceptions each, while senior
Steve Parks leads the team with 12 tackles for loss and five sacks. Parks also leads with four forced fumbles. The Dragons allow 36.1 points per game and allow 221.3 yards through the air. Teams are rushing for 212.7 yards on the ground against them.
Steve Laqua is in his second season as the MSUM head coach with a record of 3-18 at the school.
About St. Cloud State
St. Cloud State is 6-4 on the year. The Huskies rolled to a 57-10 rout of Minot State on Nov. 3 in Minot, N.D. Ledell White rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns on just six carries, while junior quarterback Phillip Klaphake threw for three touchdowns. The Huskies piled up 638 yards of total offense. Jack Moro intercepted two passes for the SCSU defense.
Michael Walker leads the SCSU offense with 11 rushing touchdowns and 669 yards. Klaphake has thrown for 2,519 yards and 26 touchdowns. Eli Shoemaker and Chad Peterson share the team lead with 34 receptions, with Shoemaker recording 669 yards and eight touchdowns receiving. The Huskies score 35.5 points per game and throw for 261.9 yards a contest while rushing for 155.9 yards a game.
Mark Martin and Thomas Johnson share the team lead with 63 tackles lead. Moro has an impressive nine interceptions. SCSU allows 25.7 points per game.
Scott Underwood is in his fifth season as SCSU's head coach with a record of 39-18 at the school.
Freshman Impact
Seven true freshmen start for the MSUM offense, including Hodge, offensive linemen
Bennen Bierman,
Troy Peterson and
Jake Antolak and receivers
Tyler Rivard,
Garrett Shelley and Jiskra. Bierman and Peterson anchor the left side of the line, while Antolak has assumed the center duties. Medhaug, also a true freshman, has made two starts at running back, while redshirt freshman
Wade Youngblom starts at tight end.
Jiskra and Rivard each have 39 and 28 catches, respectively, to lead the offense. Hodge has thrown for 1,268 yards and six touchdowns. Shelley now has 20 catches, while Youngblom has 12.
On defense, three true freshmen start, including DeJong, who leads the team and the NSIC with 111 tackles, and safety
Nico Caramella. Sheldon Jones, also a true freshman, starts at cornerback and is fourth on the team with tackles and leads the team with two forced fumbles. He also has moved to the top of the depth chart as a kick returner.
Shea's Standing
Only a true freshman, DeJong has re-assume the NSIC lead in tackles and is tied for 12th in all of Division II at 11.1 tackles per game. DeJong leads the NSIC in solo tackles with 60 and overall tackles with 111.
Seedorff's Rise
Nick Seedorff has established himself as one of the top linebackers in the NSIC. He ranks 11th in the league at 8.7 tackles per game. His 65 assisted tackles lead the conference. In all of Division II, he is ranked tied for 68th with 9.0 tackles per contest.
Binford Ranked in Kick Returns
Freshman
Chris Binford is quietly having a solid season in kick returns, averaging 26.8 yards per return. That mark ranks him 23rd in all of Division II.
Tough Road
MSUM's road schedule has been difficult this season -- and that may be an understatement. The Dragons have played four road games, three against teams now ranked in the AFCA Division II Top 25 -- Minnesota State, Mankato, Sioux Falls and Minnesota-Duluth.
Block Party
MSUM has blocked three punts and a field goal this year, led by Ismail. He recorded blocked punts in back-to-back games, including the one that led to the touchdown against Upper Iowa. Ismail also blocked a punt against Sioux Falls in Week 2. Ismail also blocked a field goal against Minot State.
Senior Uchenna Ogbonnaya, in his first year of football, blocked a punt against Minnesota-Crookston.
Century Mark
Medhaug became the first Dragon running back to surpass the century mark this season when he rushed for 124 yards and a score. He became the Dragons' first 100-yard rusher since Eboni Luscious-West ran for 103 yards against Minnesota-Crookston a year ago.
