MINOT, N.D. -- Senior
Marisa Yernatich tied the school record for career three-pointers, but the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team fell short Friday night at Minot State, dropping a 73-57 decision to the Beavers in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action.
MSUM fell to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the NSIC, while Minot State improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the league.
Yernatich, who now has 151 three-pointers to share the all-time lead with Kris Wilson, paced the Dragons with 15 points. She finished 3-of-7 from behind the arc to tie the career record.

Megan Strese added 12 points and seven rebounds. Senior
Kaycee Charette led with three assists, while juniors
Haley Thomforde and
Morgan Zabel each had three steals.
A Yernatich three-pointer gave the Dragons an early 3-2 lead 1:26 into the game, but Minot State took the lead from there and built a 24-14 lead with 8:30 left in the half.
Back-to-back baskets from Yernatich and Strese helped the Dragons cut the gap to 28-22 with 6:21 left in the opening half, but Minot State pushed the lead back to double digits and took a 40-26 lead into halftime.
MSUM was as close as 52-43 with 9:52 left after a Yernaitch basket but would get no closer and fell by 16.
Zabel had six points and five rebounds for the Dragons, who shot just 34 percent (20-of-59) from the field. Minot State shot 47 percent and also forced 21 Dragon turnovers.
The Dragons play at Mary at 4 p.m. on Saturday to wrap up the weekend.
