MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Minnesota State Unviersity Moorhead women's basketball team is not done with adding players to the 2012-13 roster just yet. Coach
Karla Nelson announced Wednesday that former Fargo South standout Meghan Roehrich will transfer to the MSUM after redshirting during the 2011-12 season at the University of North Dakota.
Roehrich, a 5'10" guard, will join eight other incoming student-athletes on the women's basketball team. The Dragons look forward to her four seasons of eligibility.
The transfer returns to the Fargo-Moorhead area after playing four seasons with the Fargo South Bruins. In her most recent basketball action, she averaged 23.2 points and 9 rebounds a game as a senior for the Bruins. Roehrich set the school record with 1745 which also places her seventh in the history of North Dakota Class A scoring. Not only is she a scorer, Roehrich placed herself second in FSHS history with 599 rebounds. In total, Roehrich owns 15 school records at Fargo South.
Roehrich led the Eastern Dakota Conference in scoring for three straight years, was a three year EDC All-Conference player, three year North Dakota All-State selection, the 2010 North Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year and a Miss Basketball finalist her senior year. During Roehrich's playing career, the Bruins compiled a record of 83-17, won the EDC tournament all four seasons and played in two state title games.
