MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team readies for its first full weekend of home play against two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference teams. The Dragons will face Wayne State on Saturday, Sept. 15 (noon start) and Augustana on Sunday, Sept. 16 (1 p.m. start).
The Wildcats and Vikings hold the all-time series lead over the Dragons. In their 15th matchup, Wayne State leads 9-4-1. In the 12th matchup, Augustana leads 10-1.
The Dragons are 1-2-1 while coming off a two-overtime game against the Northern State Wolves that ended in a 1-1 tie. Previous to the tie was a 2-0 win at home against Minnesota, Crookston.
Against Northern,
Erin Nyberg scored an early goal for the Dragons off of a
Sienna Rebollozo assist. The lead lasted until eight minutes remaining in the game when a Wolves score tied things up. Neither team could score again as the result was a 1-1 tie.
Isabel Neyman and
Alyson Beare scored the only two goals in the win over the Golden Eagles while
Lizzy Hanks recorded an assist on Beare's score.
Ashley Leintz started in the goal for the Dragons and recorded six saves in the 2-0 shutout.
Nyberg leads the team in goals with two while Neyman, Beare and
Shenae Morical each have one.
Amanda Wurdeman, Rebollozo and Hanks each have one assist. Leintz leads the goalkeepers in goal average following her first collegiate start.
Carole Braschayko has a goal average of 1.36 after allowing three goals in two starts.

Rollie Bulock is in his 13th season as MSUM's head coach with a record of 101-163-18 at the school.
The opponents
About Wayne State
Wayne State started the year 0-4 after last losing the Augustana on Sept. 9. The Wildcats have a scoring difference of 3-11 in the four losses. Kayli Hopper, Macy Hagen, and McKenna Adams are tied for the team lead in goals with one each, all coming in a 3-4 overtime loss against Northwest Missouri State. Courtney True has started all four games in the goal while recording 19 saves and allowing 11 goals. Molly Grisham, in her fourth season, has totaled a record of 17-31-8 as head coach for the Wildcats.
About Augustana
Augustana is coming off a 3-0 win over Wayne State while previously losing two games in a row. The Vikings have totaled a 2-2 record while recording a goal differential of 6-3, in their favor. Katie Hurd leads the team in goals with two, one game-winner, and also one assist. Five Vikings have recorded an assist on the season. Senior Amanda Wagner started all four matches while allowing two goals and saving 16 shots. She has two shutouts on the season against Wayne State and Sioux Falls. Head Coach Brandon Barkus has totaled a record of 51-52-12 in seven seasons with Augustana.
NSIC preseason poll
The Dragons were picked to finish 12th in the preseason NSIC coaches poll, which was announced on Aug. 15. MSUM finished with 71 points in the poll. As part of the league schedule, MSUM will play all 15 NSIC teams this season. A conference win will earn the team three points in the standings, while a tie earns one point. The top eight teams qualify for the NSIC tournament.
