MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team, in the midst of a busy stretch of five games in nine days, returns home to begin a three-game homestand, which begins Tuesday night against Northern State. The game begins at 6 p.m. at Alex Nemzek Hall in Moorhead, Minn.
MSUM (7-6, 4-5 NSIC) dropped a pair of games on the road at Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State, Mankato last weekend, while Northern State (9-4, 5-4) lost at Mankato before beating Concordia to earn a road split.
The Dragons and Wolves will meet for a second time this season. MSUM won the first meeting, 66-54 in Aberdeen, S.D., on Dec. 1, 2012, thanks to 21 points and eight rebounds from junior
Megan Strese. Northern holds a 41-23 lead in the all-time series.

About MSUM
The Dragons (7-6, 4-5) lost two NSIC game road games last weekend. MSUM lost a tough 76-70 game to Concordia on Jan. 11, despite 23 points and nine rebounds from Strese. Senior
Kaycee Charette led the Dragons the next night with 12 points in a 74-55 loss at No. 24 Minnesota State.

Marisa Yernatich is at 13.2 points of game. Junior
Morgan Zabel is averaging 12.6 points per game for MSUM, which is averaging 65.9 points per game as a team. Junior
Haley Thomforde leads with 42 assists, while Zabel leads with 19 steals. MSUM allows 64.9 points per game on defense.
Karla Nelson is in her 13th season as MSUM's head coach with a record of 215-143.
About Northern State
Northern State split on the road last weekend and is now 5-4 in the league. The Wolves lost at Minnesota State, 71-47 on Friday despite 12 points from Megan Mutchler. The next night, Sadie Stotesbery had 16 points to lead the Wolves to a 63-50 win over Concordia.
Alison Kusler leads the Wolves at 13.8 points per game, while Rachel Krogman averages 10.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. She also leads the team with 12 blocks. Kara Hofschild leads the Wolves at 35 assists, while Kusler has 18 steals. Northern averages 62.7 points per game and shoots 39.6 percent from the field; the Wolves allow 57.6 points per game.
Curt Fredrickson is in his 34th year as Northern's head coach with a record of 716-263.
Preseason Poll
MSUM was picked to finish 11th in the NSIC in a polling of the league's coaches. The Dragons were picked to finish fourth in the NSIC's North Division.
Yernatich Sets Three-Point Mark
Senior
Marisa Yernatich has set the standard for three-point shooting during her career for MSUM, and has the record to prove it. Yernatich now has 170 three-pointers for her career and holds the all-time record. She tied the single-game school record with seven 3-pointers in the 71-65 win over Minnesota-Crookston on Jan. 4.
