MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team takes a two-game winning streak on the road this week with Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games against Bemidji State on Friday (6 p.m. tipoff) and Minnesota-Crookston on Saturday (4 p.m. start).
The Dragons (9-7, 6-6 NSIC) beat Sioux Falls (73-65) and Southwest Minnesota State (72-62) to earn a weekend home sweep. Bemidji State is 7-9 overall and 3-9 in the NSIC and has lost six of seven games, while Minnesota-Crookston is 5-11 overall and 2-10 in the NSIC and has lost five in a row.
MSUM leads the all-time series with Bemidji State 53-38; the Dragons beat the Beavers, 74-55 on Jan. 5 in Moorhead, Minn. The Dragons also hold a 27-3 edge in the all-time series over Minnesota-Crookston; they beat the Golden Eagles, 71-65 on Jan. 5 in Moorhead.

MSUM earned a weekend sweep at home, with wins over Sioux Falls (73-65) and SMSU (72-62). In the win over USF,
Kaycee Charette scored a season-high 20 points for the Dragons, while
Morgan Zabel and
Haley Thomforde each scored 15 points in the win over SMSU.

Megan Strese leads the Dragons at 15.0 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. Junior
Morgan Zabel is at 12.8 points per game, while senior
Marisa Yernatich is at 12.7 points per contest. Thomforde leads with 57 assists, while Zabel, Yernatich and Charette have 22 steals each. MSUM shoots 38.2 percent from the field and averages 66.1 points per game. The Dragons outrebound their opponents 41.1-36.0 and allow 64.9 points per game.
Karla Nelson is in her 13th season as MSUM's head coach with a record of 217-144.

Bemidji State is 7-9 overall and 3-9 in the NSIC. The Beavers lost two games on the road last weekend, at Winona State (78-41) and Upper Iowa (79-64)j
Morgan Lee leads the Beavers at 12.9 points per game, while Lanae Rash is at 12.0 and Kate Warmack at 11.3. Bemidji averages 63.2 points per game and shoots 38.7 percent from the field. The Beavers are being out rebounded, 37.6-40.6 and are allowing 71.3 points per game.
Mike Curfman is in his eighth season as Bemidji State's head coach with a record of 78-129 at the school.

Minnesota-Crookston is 5-11 overall and 2-10 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles have lost five in a row, including games at Upper Iowa (91-68) and Winona State (68-41) last weekend.

Yernatich Adds to Three-Point Record
Senior
Marisa Yernatich has set the standard for three-point shooting during her career for MSUM, and has the record to prove it. Yernatich now has 175 three-pointers for her career and holds the all-time record. She tied the single-game school record she had set previously with seven 3-pointers in the 71-65 win over Minnesota-Crookston on Jan. 4.
