MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead men's basketball team will look to cap off an unbeaten five-game homestand this weekend when it hosts Minnesota-Crookston (8 p.m. on Friday) and Bemidji State (6 p.m. on Saturday).
The Dragons are 3-0 on the homestand so far, coming off of a 63-53 win over Viterbo on Dec. 29. MSUM (10-1, 4-1 NSIC) is tied for first in the NSIC and has won five in a row.
The Dragons and Minnesota-Crookston will meet for a 36th time, with the Dragons holding a 26-9 series lead. The two teams split a year ago, with the Dragons winning in Moorhead, 64-61 on Dec. 10, 2011, and the Golden Eagles winning in Crookston, 82-79 on Jan. 28, 2012.
MSUM and Bemidji State will meet for a 184th time, with the Dragons holding a 91-82 lead. The Dragons went 3-0 against Bemidji State a year ago, including a 73-64 win over the Beavers in the NSIC tournament semifinals.

Tucker leads the Dragons at 21.0 points per game, a mark that is 17th in all of Division II. He also leads the team in three-pointers (27) and assists (47). He is also shooting an impressive 88.5 percent (54-of-61) from the free-throw line. Senior
Alex Novak is having a solid year at 13.4 points and a team-best 9.0 rebounds per game. He also leads with 14 blocks. Sophomore
Jordan Riewer averages 12.1 points per game for the Dragons, who average 77.5 points per game as a team and allow 65.9. MSUM shoots 49.7 percent from the field.
Chad Walthall is in his third season at MSUM with a record of 46-23 at the school.
About Minnesota-Crookston
Minnesota-Crookston is 3-6 overall and 0-5 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles were swept at home prior to the holiday break, losing to Minot State, 55-47 and Mary, 52-51.
Brandon Burns leads UMC at 13.8 points per game, while Almir Krdzalic averages 10.4 and also has a team-best 2.7 assists per game. Abdou Niang leads at 5.8 assists per game. As a team, the Golden Eagles average 60.3 points per game but allow 65.2. They outrebound their opponents 30.4-29.7.
Jeff Oseth is in his 11th season as UMC's head coach with a record of 47-223.
About Bemidji State
Bemidji State is 6-3 overall and 4-1 in the NSIC. The Beavers will play Northern State prior to facing MSUM on Saturday. Bemidji State beat Mary (61-40) and Minot State (73-63) in its final action prior to the holiday break.
Dermaine Crockrell leads the Beavers at 15.7 points per game, while Mason Walters averages 12.3 points and a team-best 6.3 rebounds per game. Zach Noreen is at 11.4 points per game for Bemidji, which averages 72 points per game and allows 60.8. The Beavers outrebound their opponents 35.2-29.3.
Mike Boschee is in his first season as Bemidji State's head coach with a 6-3 record at the school.

Alex Novak is at 965 career points, just 47 away from 1,000, and is also at 863 rebounds, which is third all-time and just 154 away from the all-time school record. Novak is also the school's all-time record holder with 193 blocks. Novak is also second all-time in the NSIC in career rebounds with 637; he trails all-time leader Gus Johnson of Winona State by 182 for that mark.
Tucker is at 921 career points and is just 79 from 1,000 for his collegiate career.
