MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team, fresh off of a weekend home sweep, hits the road this week to face a pair of the top teams in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The Dragons will play at Concordia-St. Paul on Friday for a 6 p.m. game and conclude the weekend at No. 24-ranked Minnesota State, Mankato at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
MSUM (7-4, 4-3) beat Minnesota-Crookston (71-65) and Bemidji State (75-55) last weekend. The Dragons are tied for seventh in the NSIC, but are just one game out of a tie for second place and two games behind league-leading St. Cloud State. Concordia (7-4, 5-2 NSIC) and Minnesota State (9-2, 5-2 NSIC) are both tied for second in the league.
Concordia-St. Paul holds a 20-13 lead in the all-time series with MSUM, although the Dragons won the last meeting, 77-65 on Jan. 20, 2012 in St. Paul.
MSU Mankato holds a 20-14 edge in the series with the Dragons. The Mavericks won the last meeting, 64-58 on Jan. 2, 2012 in Moorhead, Minn.

The Golden Bears beat nationally-ranked opponents back-to-back on the road last weekend, beating No. 19 Wayne State, 56-46 on Jan. 4 before beating No. 5 Augustana, 70-61 the next day. Against Augustana, Concordia outscored the Vikings 50-31 in the second half after trailing 30-20 at the half.
Anika Whiting leads Concordia at 19.2 points (second in the NSIC) and 7.8 rebounds per game. Carissa Wolyniec averages 11.4 points per game, while Rachel Hansen is at 4.5 assists per game. The Golden Bears average 69.5 points per game and shoot 41.6 percent from the field. They hold a slight 38.8-37.8 rebounding edge on their opponents and allow 61.1 points per game.

Marisa Yernatich has set the standard for three-point shooting during her career for MSUM, and has the record to prove it. Yernatich now has 164 three-pointers for her career and holds the all-time record. She tied the single-game school record with seven 3-pointers in the 71-65 win over Minnesota-Crookston on Jan. 4.
