MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead football team will look to break into the win column on Saturday at Northern State. Game time is set for 2:30 p.m. at Clark Swisher Field inn Aberdeen, S.D.
Northern State is 1-3 overall and in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference while MSUM is 0-4 both overall and in league play.
Head Coaches
Steve Laqua is in his third season as MSUM's head coach with a record of 3-23, while Tom Dosch is in his fourth season as Concordia's head coach with a record of 14-23.
Series History
MSUM and Northern State will meet for a 51st time with the Wolves holding a 28-21-1 advantage in the series. Northern State has won the last four meetings, including a 45-7 win over the Dragons in 2012 in Moorhead, Minn. MSUM's last win in the series came in 2008, a 29-26 victory in Moorhead, Minn.

Chris Lee leads with four tackles for loss. Seven different Dragons have recovered fumbles this season. MSUM's defense allows 42.2 points per game and 292.5 yards per game on the ground; the Dragons also surrender 181.0 yards per game through the air, which is the second-lowest in the entire NSIC.
About Northern State
Northern State is 1-3 on the year after losing at No. 2-ranked Minnesota State, 42-14 on Sept. 28. After winning their opening game in overtime over Wayne State by a 29-27 score, the Wolves have lost three in a row. Junior quarterback Jared Jacobson leads the way for the Wolves. He has rushed for 188 yards and three scores and also has thrown for 735 yards and seven touchdowns. Jacobson is only completing 46.5 percent of his passes, however and has been intercepted four times.
Connor Doherty leads the Wolves' receiving corps with 15 catches for 178 yards and a touchdown, while Tanner White has 13 catches for 148 yards and a score. On offense, Northern State averages 24.2 points per game along with 122.8 rushing yards and 196.8 passing yards per contest.
Northern State's defense is led by Blaine Schmidt, who has 29 tackles, an interception, three pass break ups and four passes defensed. Logan Dosch has 27 tackles, including a team-best three for loss. The Wolves' defense allows 34.5 per game and 322.0 yards per game on the ground. Northern State allows 185.2 yards per game passing as well.

Sophomore receiver
Adam Jiskra had a solid freshman year, leading MSUM in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns in 2012. Now a sophomore, he continues to be a main weapon in the receiving arsenal. He had a career-high nine catches for a career-high 180 yards and a touchdown during the Dragons' 36-34 home loss to Concordia-St. Paul last weekend. It was the third 100-yard receiving game of Jiskra's career. He leads MSUM in receptions (21) and receiving yards (377) and shares the team lead with sophomore
Preston Prince with three receiving touchdowns. Jiskra is seventh in the NSIC at 5.25 receptions per game and is third at 94.2 receiving yards per game.
Hodge Ranked in NSIC

Jake Hodge, after his combined 392 yards of offense against Concordia-St. Paul, has now climbed into the top 10 in several statistical categories in the NSIC. He ranks fifth in total offense per game (267.0), fourth in scoring (10.0 points per game), ninth in rushing (81.0), eighth in passing yards per game (186.0) and 10th in pass efficiency (122.1).
2013 Schedule
MSUM's 2013 campaign features five home games and six on the road. Currently, two of MSUM's upcoming opponents -- Minnesota Duluth (11th) and St. Cloud State (18th) - are ranked in the AFCA Division II Top 25.

Atop the NSIC...
MSUM leads the NSIC in a unique statistical category -- opponents penalties. Opponents are averaging 92.2 yards per game in penalties against MSUM in 2013. The Dragons are committing only 53.8 yards per game in penalties themselves, sixth-best in the league.
Bohl-ed Over
Redshirt freshman linebacker
Aaron Bohl made his second start of his collegiate career against SMSU and made his presence felt. He had a game-high -- and career-high -- 15 tackles against the Mustangs. He had four solo tackles and 11 assists, and also had 1.5 tackles for loss. Bohl also shares the NSIC lead with two forced fumbles. For the season Bohl holds the team lead with 29 tackles.
Century Club
Two Dragons have rushed for more than 100 yards in a game this season. Junior running back
Brandon Schell rushed 130 yards in the 27-20 home loss to Southwest Minnesota State, while Hodge rushed for 107 yards in the loss to Concordia-St. Paul.

The Dragons are 0-2 in Week 5 games under Head Coach
Steve Laqua. In 2011, the Dragons lost to Minnesota-Duluth, 49-21 and in 2012, loss their homecoming game to Northern State, 45-7.

MSU ranks tied for seventh in the NSIC with a turnover margin of plus-1. However, MSUM is tied for first in fumbles forced (six) and tied for fourth overall in turnovers forced (seven.).
