MSUM Women's Soccer Wraps Up Season Against Marauders and Beavers

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team wraps up the 2013 season with a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games this week. The Dragons will play at the University of Mary for a 3 p.m. game on Friday and conclude the year with a game at home against Minot State at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

MSUM will meet Mary for a 14th time with the Marauders leading the series 10-1-2. The Dragons and Minot State will meet for a fourth time with the Beavers leading the series 2-0-1.

The Dragons are coming off of an 0-2 weekend when they fell at Minnesota Duluth (3-0) and St. Cloud State (4-1).  Junior Stephanie Lindo scored her second goal of the season in the loss to St. Cloud State.

Junior Erin Nyberg leads the Dragons with nine points and four goals. Lindo has two goals, an assist and five points, while freshman Jessica Johnson has one goal, one assist and three points on the season.

In goal, senior Carole Braschayko leads with 68 saves, while sophomore Ashley Leintz leads with a 1.73 goals allowed average. Leintz also has an .847 save percentage.  Braschayko leads the NSIC at 11.33 saves per game while Leintz is second at 10.17.  Leintz is fourth in the league in save percentage at .847 with Braschayko ninth at .800.

Rollie Bulock is in his 16th season as MSUM's head coach wit ha record of 91-165-14 at the school.

About Mary
Mary is 3-10-3 overall and 3-7-3 in the NSIC. The Marauders went 0-1-1 on the road last weekend, losing at Bemidji State, 5-0, on Friday and tying Minnesota Crookston, 0-0 in double overtime. Alex Bachman-Williams is having a solid season offensively for Mary with seven goals and 15 points, while Mykala Benjamin and Michelle McGeary each have two goals and five points. In goal,Shelby Buttron is 3-9-3 with 90 saves; she has four shutouts and a 1.85 goals allowed average. Sarah McNulty is in her first year as Mary's head coach with a record of 3-10-3.

About Minot State
The Beavers are 5-7-3 overall and 5-6-2 in the NSIC.  They also went 0-1-1 on the road last weekend, tying Minnesota Crookston 0-0 in double overtime on Saturday before losing at Bemidji State, 2-1 in overtime on Sunday. Chloe Melton leads Minot State with four goals, while Zoe Fisher has three goals, a team-high five assists and a team-high 11 points. Kayla Schlittenhart has three goals and seven points as well. In goal Gemma Biasetto is 2-7-2 and leads the team with 67 saves. Jimi Guibor is 3-0-1 with two shutouts and a 0.42 goals allowed average.  Jason Spain is in his fourth season as Minot State's head coach with a record of 40-26-9 at the school.
