MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team will wrap up a four-match homestand this weekend against a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference foes. The Dragons open action on Friday at home against Minnesota Crookston (7 p.m. first serve) and end the weekend with a match against Bemidji State on Saturday (5 p.m. first serve).
The Dragons opened the homestand with a pair of losses last weekend. They are 2-2 at Alex Nemzek Hall this season.
MSUM and Minnesota Crookston will meet for a 31st time, with the Dragons holding a 30-1 edge in the series. The Dragons and Beavers will meet for a 127th time, with the Dragons holding a 72-54 edge in the series.

MSUM is 10-5 overall and 3-4 in the NSIC. The Dragons lost a pair of matches at home last weekend, losing to then-No. 10 Wayne State in three sets on Friday and then losing to Augustana in five sets on Saturday. Minnesota Crookston is 7-8 overall and 2-5 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles went 1-1 at home last weekend, losing in three sets to No. 1-ranked Concordia-St. Paul before sweeping Minnesota State on Saturday evening. Britany Looker has been an offensive force for Minnesota Crookston, leading the team with 201 kills. No other player on the team has more than 100 kills. Setter Sierra Trost has 515 assists for the Golden Eagles, who are hitting .177 as a team. On defense, Chelsea Wiesner has 234 digs, while Morgan VanGerpen has 43 blocks. Lee Anderson is in his seventh season as Minnesota Crookston's head coach with a record of 47-141 at the school.
About Bemidji State
Bemidji State is 5-10 overall and 1-6 in the NSIC. The Beavers are coming off a pair of losses at home last weekend, falling in five sets to Minnesota State on Oct. 4 and losing in three sets to No. 1-ranked Concordia-St. Paul. Bemidji State will meet Northern State prior to facing the Dragons. Jessica Yost leads MSUM with 192 kills, while Rachel Craig has 141. Courtney Volkmann has 503 set assists for the Beavers, who are hitting .191 as a team. Kayla DeJong has 217 digs and Craig has 39 blocks to lead the Bemidji State defense. Wayne Chadwick is in his fourth season as Bemidji State's head coach with a record of 27-71 at the school.
Last Week's Highlights
Morgan Gradishar (OH, 5-10, So., Aurora, Colo.) had a strong all-around week for the Dragons as they hosted No. 10-ranked Wayne State and Augustana. She led the team with 27 kills in two matches, including a career-high 20 in a five-set loss to Augustana on Saturday. She averaged 3.38 kills per set and also was second on the team with 30 digs (3.75 set). She hit .200 in 95 attack attempts for the Dragons.
Amber Krenske (L/DS, 5-7, So., Faribault, Minn. / Faribault HS), making her return to the starting libero spot after missing time with injury, had a strong week in the back row for the Dragons. She had a team-high 49 digs, averaging 6.12 digs per set. She was particularly solid during the Dragons' five-set loss to Augustana, recording a career high 37 digs, averaging 7.4 digs per set. She also led the team with five service aces.
Sam Sullivan (S, 5-11, Jr., Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) took over the setting duties on a solo basis with an injury to teammate
Casie Baer and had a strong week. She finished with 80 assists in two matches, including a career high 54 in a five-set loss to Augustana on Saturday. She averaged 10.0 set assists per set.
