NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's swimming and diving team went a perfect 3-0 in dual competition at the Carleton/St. Olaf/St. Catherine's quad, which was held Friday at Carleton College in Northfield, Minn.
MSUM beat Carleton by a score of 214-83, and also beat St. Olaf (180-120) and St. Catherine's (237.5-58.5). The Dragons won nine events on the day.
Senior
Shayna Dugger won the 1-meter diving with a score of 250.25, just missing the national qualifying mark of 255. Senior
Kelsey Jandro was second at 222.05. In the 3-meter diving, Jandro was victorious with a score of 232.80 with Dugger second at 223.45.
The Dragons' 200 medley relay was victorious with a season-best time of 1:50.77. That consisted of sophomore
Annika Bordak, freshman
Jackie Woods, senior
Megan Rieland and junior
Susie Kitzman. MSUM claimed the 200 free relay title with a season-best time of 1:39.82. That consisted of Kitzman, senior
Angelee Hale, junior
Taylor Miller and Rieland.
The Dragons went 1-2 in the 50 breaststroke with Woods winning at 31.89 and
Kelli Nadeau taking second with a season-best time of 32.60. Woods also added a win in the 100 breaststroke at 1:09.16 and tied for the win in the 100 IM at 1:03.67.
Kitzman won the 100 butterfly with a lifetime-best time of 1:00.62. Sophomore
Kaitlyn McKinney was third at 1:03.96, a lifetime best, while sophomore
Lydia Weiler was fourth at 1:04.34, also a lifetime-best.
Bordak won the 50 backstroke with a season-best time of 28.33 with sophomore
Rachel Erickson taking third at 28.56, which was also a season-best time. Bordak added a runner-up finish in the 100 backstroke at 1:00.89.
Rieland was second in the 50 free at 25.23 and added a runner-up finish in the 50 butterfly at 27.75. Hale was second in the 500 freestyle at 5:24.62.
MSUM's "B" 200 medley relay was third at 1:54.88, a seaso-best. That consisted of freshman
Madison Kuznia, Nadeau, McKinney and Hale. The Dragons' "B" 200 free relay was third with a season-best time of 1:44.03. That consisted of Erickson, McKinny, freshman
Amber Helgoe and freshman
Kelly Engbring. Miller swam a lifetime best of 25.84 in the 50 freestyle.
The Dragons are at the College, Contentment and Cows Classic at St. Olaf College on Saturday in Northfield, Minn. Competition is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
