MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team will face two Division II opponents in nonconference action this week at the Radisson Hotel Roseville Classic hosted by Concordia-St. Paul. The tournament starts Friday in St. Paul, Minn.
The Dragons (1-0) open the tournament against Wisconsin-Parkside (2-0) at 5 p.m. on Friday and will conclude the weekend against No. 21-ranked Michigan Tech (0-0) at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
MSUM will meet Wisconsin-Parkside for the first time in school history, and will meet Michigan Tech for a third time with the series tied at 1-1.

The Dragons opened their 2013-14 regular season with an 81-64 nonconference win over Mayville State. Senior forward
Morgan Zabel posted her first career double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds, both game-highs. She added seven assists. Senior forward
Megan Strese had 13 points and nine rebounds while senior guard
Haley Thomforde had 12 points and five rebounds.
Sophomore
Meghan Roehrich had a solid game for the Dragons off the bench, scoring eight points and adding six rebounds in just 17 minutes of work. Ten Dragons reached the scoring column in the game.
MSUM heads into the weekend averaging 81 points per game and allowing 64. MSUM shot 39.4 percent (28-of-71) against the Comets while surrendering 33.9 percent field goal shooting. The Dragons had a commanding 58-32 edge in rebounding.
Karla Nelson is in her 14th season as MSUM's head coach with a record of 225-148.

The Rangers are 2-0 on the season. They beat Lake Superior State, 66-48 and Upper Iowa, 65-55 to open the 2013-14 season.
Tara Knapstein and Gaby Bronson lead the Rangers at 16.0 points per game, while Maddie Johnston averages 10.5 points per game. As a team, Wisconsin-Parkside is averaging 65.5 points per game and allowing 51.5. The Rangers are shooting 43.3 percent from the field, including 50 percent from three-point range. Nafeshia Hollfield averages 8.0 rebounds per game for the Rangers.

Michigan Tech, ranked No. 21 in the USA Today Division II coaches poll will open this season this weekend; the Huskies will face Concordia-St. Paul at 8 p.m. on Friday before facing the Dragons.
The Huskies are the two time Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North Division champions and finished 21-9 a year ago. Sophomore forward Kylie Moxley is the top returning scorer at 9.7 points per game, while junior forward Jillian Ritchie averaged 8.6 points per game.
Michigan Tech averaged 69.2 points per game a year ago and allowed 67.9.
Kim Cameron is in her fourth season as Michigan Tech's head coach with a record of 72-19 at the school.
