Dragon Wrestlers to Tangle with Dickinson State in Dual on Wednesday

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team is back in action on Wednesday night when it faces Dickinson State in a nonconference dual that begins at 8 p.m. Central time in Dickinson, N.D.

The Dragons will also send a small contingent wrestlers to the Jamestown Open on Saturday. That event begins at 9 a.m. in Jamestown, N.D.

About MSUM
MSUM is 1-0 on the dual season after dominating Jamestown, 41-0 in its opener on Nov. 14. The Dragons also had a solid day at the Cobber Open in Moorhead on Saturday.

In the win over Jamestown, MSUM got pins from freshmen Blake Bosch (125) and Tyler Schlosser (197) and wins by technical fall from junior Michael Joseph (174) and sophomore Jesse Puncochar (165).

At the Cobber Open, senior Angel Vega (wrestling unattached), freshman Garret Hoffner and Schlosser all recorded runner-up finishes in their respective weight classes. Bosch, redshirt freshman Mike Urban and senior Matt Lewellen each were third in their divisions.

The Dragons are led by Lewellen, who is 8-3 on the season at 184 pounds, and Joseph, who is 8-4 at 174. Bosch is 6-3 at 125 while Schlosser is 5-2 at 197.

Kris Nelson is in his fifth season as MSUM's head coach with a record of 24-36 at the school.

About Dickinson State
Dickinson State is 1-0 in duals after recording a 37-6 win over Doane College on Nov. 15. The team also competed at the Dakota Wesleyan Open on Nov. 16.

Sophomore Lane Oversen leads the Bluehawks with a 7-1 record at 184 pounds, while senior Brian Klevis is 6-1 at 285 pounds.
