MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Four Minnesota State University Moorhead players scored in double figures to help the Dragons roll to an 84-51 win over Mayville State in nonconference men's basketball Saturday night in Moorhead, Minn. The game was the regular-season opener for MSUM.

Urbane Bingham led the Dragons (1-0) with 16 points and six rebounds, while sophomore forward

MSUM shot 50 percent (29-of-58) while holding the Comets to 32 percent (16-of-50). The Dragons held 45-32 edge in rebounds.
The Dragons led 19-14 but pushed the lead to 12 with a 12-5 run. Six different players scored two points during the run for MSUM, which was capped off by a dunk from Nelson. MSUM led 36-25 at halftime.
MSUM opened the second half on an 11-4 run to stretch the lead to 47-30. Riewer and junior
Prescott Williams each drained threes for MSUM. From there, MSUM continued to add to the lead and rolled to the 33-point win.

MSUM plays host to Northland College at 7 p.m. on Nov. 9 for its next contest.
Steve d'Eustachio Stat of the Game: Tonight marked the sixth consecutive Dragon victory overall against Mayville State and the seventh in a row in Moorhead. The last time the Comets defeated the Dragons was 81-68 on December 30, 2006 in Mayville, and the last time Mayville State bested the Dragons in Moorhead was on February 15, 1999, when the Comets escaped with an 87-79 decision.
