MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team returns home this week for a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games. The Dragons will face Bemidji State at 6 p.m. on Friday and then wrap up the weekend with a 6 p.m game against Minnesota Crookston on Saturday.
Saturday's games against Minnesota Crookston will be preceded by a pair of Moorhead High School basketball games against St. Michael-Albertville at Nemzek Fieldhouse. The Moorhead girls will face STMA at 2 p.m. followed by the Moorhead boys taking on STMA at 4 p.m. Fans can buy a ticket to one of the games and that will allow them access to all four games that day.
MSUM and Bemidji State will meet for a 93rd time with the Dragons holding a 54-38 series lead. MSUM won both meetings in 2012-13. The Dragons and Minnesota Crookston will face off for a 32nd time with the Dragons leading the series 28-3.

The Dragons are 4-3 overall and 0-3 in the NSIC. They were swept on the road last weekend, falling at Mary, 77-75 and Minot State, 72-58

The Dragons are shooting 43.9 percent from the field, including 37.1 percent from three-point range. The Dragons outrebound their opponents 37.4-32.3. MSUM allows only 70.4 points per game and is holding teams to 42.9 percent shooting from the field this season.
Karla Nelson is her 14th season as MSUM's head coach with a record of 228-151 at the school.
About Bemidji State
The Beavers are 5-2 overall and 1-2 in the NSIC. They split at home last weekend, beating St. Cloud State, 99-82, thanks to 33 points from senior guard Morgan Lee, before losing to Minnesota Duluth 70-63.
Lee paces the Bemidji State offense at 20.4 points per game, while forward Kate Warmack averages 19.1 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. Freshman Hanna Zerr leads with 31 assists.
Bemidji State averages 84.7 points per game as a team and is shooting 42.7 percent from the field. The Beavers are being outrebounded, 46.1-44.6 and allow 74.3 points per game.
Mike Curfman is in his 9th year as Bemidji State's head coach with a record of 87-138 at the school.
About Minnesota Crookston
The Golden Eagles is 4-3 overall and 1-2 in the NSIC. They were swept at home last weekend, falling to Minnesota Duluth 88-69 and St. Cloud State, 85-70. UMC will face Northern State prior to facing MSUM.
Alexa Thelma leads the Golden Eagles at 15.3 points per game while Katrina Moenkedick is averaging 14.6 points and a team-best 6.6 rebounds per game. Thelma leads with 16 assists.
As a team, Minnesota Crookston scores 80.6 points per game and is shooting 42.6 percent from the field. The Golden Eagles outrebound their opposition, 39.9.-37.9 and are allowing 74.3 points per game.
Mike Roysland is in his seventh season as UMC's head coach with a record of 56-140.
Climbing the Charts
A pair of Dragons are nearing 1,000 points for their collegiate careers.
Megan Strese is at 934 career points, just 66 away from the milestone, while Zabel is at 808 points, just 192 away. In addition, Thomforde is at 269 career assists, just 17 away from the top 10.
Roehrich's Rise
Sophomore guard Meghan Roerich is ranked 20th in the nation in free-throw percentage (93.5), a mark that is second-best in the NSIC. But she also has emerged as a primary offensive threat for the Dragons off of the bench. She is second on the team in scoring at 13.1 points per game and has scored in double figures in six straight games. Roerich scored a career-high 21 points against the University of Mary on Dec. 6.
