MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team takes a four-game winning streak on the road this week. The Dragons will play at Augustana College at 6 p.m. on Friday in Sioux Falls, S.D., and conclude the weekend with a game at No. 8-ranked Wayne State at 4 p.m. on Saturday in Wayne, Neb.
MSUM is 14-8 overall and 10-8 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and received six votes in the latest WBCA Division II Poll. The Dragons went 4-0 on their recent homestand. MSUM is now alone in fourth place in the NSIC North's Division, just one game behind second place teams Minot State and Mary. The top four teams in each division host a home game in the opening round of the NSIC tournament.
The Dragons will meet Augustana for a 19th time with the Vikings hold a 13-5 lead in the series. MSUM and Wayne State will meet for a 33rd time with the Wildcats leading 18-14.

The Dragons went 2-0 last weekend, beating St. Cloud State, 74-62, on Friday, thanks to 17 points from senior forward
Morgan Zabel. A night later, Zabel had 24 points to help MSUM outlast Minnesota Duluth, 80-78.

MSUM scores 72.0 points per game and is shooting 42.2 percent form the field. The Dragons hit 36.3 percent from three-point range, third-best in the NSIC. MSUM outrebounds its foes, 40.0-32.6 and allows 68.8 points per contest. Opponents are shooting 41.1 percent against the Dragons this year.
Karla Nelson is in her 14th season as MSUM's head coach with a record of 238-156 at the school.
About Augustana
The Vikings are 13-9 overall and 9-9 in the NSIC. The Vikings swept at home last weekend, beating Winona State, 80-71 and Upper Iowa, 97-75.
Shaunteva Ashley leads Augustana at 16.9 points per game, while Emily Schulte averages 14.5 and Rhianna Gullickson 13.5. Sophomore Riley Nordgaard averages 12.4 points per game. Nordgaard leads at 7.8 rebounds per game while Ashley and Schulte each average 4.0 assists per game.
As a team, Augustana averages 80.9 points per game and shoots 40.6 percent from the field. The Vikings are being outrebounded by a slight 42.0-41.4 margin. Augustana allows 73.8 points per game.
Dave Krauth is in his 25th season as Augustana's head coach with a record of 506-225 at the school.
About Wayne State
The Wildcats, ranked No. 8 in the WBCA Division II poll, are 23-2 overall and 16-2 in the NSIC. Wayne State, which faces No. 17-ranked Northern State on Friday prior to facing MSUM, has won seven in a row, including home routs of Upper Iowa (56-29) and Winona State (91-57) last weekend.
Jordan Spencer leads Wayne State at 17.2 points per game, while Millie Niggeling is at 10.9 and Ashton Yossi at 10.8. Jaylan Spencer leads at 8.0 rebounds per game, while Addy Roller is at 4.6 assists per game.
Wayne State scores 77.2 points per game and shoots 46.7 percent from the field. The Wildcats outrebound their foes, 37.8-36.5 and allow an NSIC-best 57.3 points per game. Teams shoot only 34.9 percent against the Wildcats this season.
Chris Kielsmeier is in his sixth season as Wayne State's head coach with a record of 139-37 at the school.

Strese and Zabel Join 1,000-Point Club
Megan Strese became the Dragons' 20th player to reach 1,000 career points during MSUM's loss to No. 17 Minnesota State on Jan. 11, 2014. Strese scored less than two minutes into the game to surpass 1,000 for her career. She now has 1,142 career points, 14th-best all-time.
Days later, senior Zabel became the 21st women's player to hit 1,000 career points with her basket in the closing minutes in the win over Winona State on Feb. 1. Zabel is now exactly at 1,041 points for her career, 18th-best in school history.
Thomforde Climbs the Assist Ladder
Haley Thomforde climbed into the top 10 in career assists earlier this season. She is now at 320 career assists with four games left in the regular season, a number that ranks her seventh all-time in school history. Thomforde is just 15 assists from the top five.
Dragons Rank in Free Throws
MSUM ranks third in the nation in free-throw percentage at 79.8 percent. Sophomore guard
Meghan Roehrich is 28th in the nation at 88.5 percent.
Ruling the Boards
The Dragons are proving to be an effective rebounding team in 2013-14. They ranked 17th in the nation in rebounding margin (+7.4), thanks in part to the work on the boards from senior forward
Megan Strese, who leads the team at 8.5 rebounds per game.
