Dragon Wrestlers Host Augustana and Mary to Conclude Regular Season

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team wraps up its regular season with a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference duals this week. MSUM will host No. 17-ranked Augustana at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and then follow with a home match against Mary at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Both matches will be at Nemzek Fieldhouse in Moorhead, MInn. Saturday's match will be Senior Day for the Dragons.

MSUM is coming off of a 1-1 week. The Dragons lost to Concordia, which was ranked No. 8 in Division III, 28-7 on Feb. 4 but rebounded with a 30-12 win over Minot State on Feb. 6 to improve to 3-3 in the NSIC. Freshman Blake Bosch (125) and senior Connor MacGregor (141) both went 2-0 on the week for MSUM.

For the season, senior Matt Lewellen leads MSUM with a 23-13 mark at 184 pounds while Bosch is 16-9 at 125. Freshman Garret Hoffner is 11-10 at 149 pounds, while freshman Shane Novak is 13-14 at 133 pounds.

Kris Nelson is in his fifth season as MSUM's head coach.

About Augustana: The Vikings are 11-5 overall and 4-2 in the NSIC. They saw a five-match winning streak end on Feb. 7 with a 27-12 loss to No. 4-ranked St. Cloud State in St. Cloud, Minn. Sophomore T.J. North is 24-3 at 125 pounds and is ranked fifth in the nation at that weight class. Senior Sean Derry is 24-5 at 184 pounds and is ranked No. 8 in the nation. Jason Reitmeier is in his 11th season as Augustana's head coach with a record of 116-57 at the school.

About Mary:  Mary is 1-8 overall and 0-5 in the NSIC. The Marauders, who are coming off of a 21-18 home loss to Minot State,  will face Northern State on Thursday prior to facing MSUM. Trevor Johnson (141 pounds) leads Mary with a 14-4 record, while Brock Krumm is 11-10 at 165 pounds. Adam Aho is in his first season as Mary's head coach with a record of 1-8 at the school.
