Woods and Sullivan Pace Dragons at Opening Day of Home Quad

Meet Results
MOORHEAD, Minn. – Two wins each by senior Jackie Woods and sophomore Erin Sullivan paced the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's swimming and diving team at its home quad on Friday at the Nemzek Pool in Moorhead, Minn. MSUM went 1-2 in the duals on the day.

MSUM beat Northern State 212-50 and battled tough against St. Cloud State and Northern Michigan. The Dragons fell to SCSU, 174-126 and to Northern Michigan, 161-139.

"We had an amazing night filled with great performances," MSUM head coach Todd Peters said. "Our team goal was to make the meets close against both Northern Michigan and St. Cloud and we did just that.  In the end we just didn't have enough speed in the freestyle events to stay with them.  We had some freshmen step up and prove their ability to perform under pressure.  The evening was capped off with senior captain, Jackie Woods being named Homecoming Queen and that made our team really proud."

Woods and freshman Erin Fons tied for the win in the in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 31.17. Junior Shae Bodrero was fourth in 31.90. Woods added a second win in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.94. Bodrero was fifth in 1:09.92 and Fons was sixth in 1:10.24.

Sullivan posted two wins and also had a runner-up finish. She won the 50 backstroke in 27.42 and also claimed the 100 backstroke in 58.98.  Sullivan was second in the 50 butterfly in 26.92.

Freshman Taylor Beynon won the 400 IM in 4:46.21 and placed fifth in the 1,000 freestyle in 11:13.19.

Freshman Natalie Kampa was third in the 100 butterfly in 1:01.64 while senior Annika Bordak was fourth in 1:01.73. Freshman Sami DuVal was fifth in 1:01.79.
Senior Emily Pascavis was third in both diving events. She was third in the 1-meter diving with a score of 228.45 and third in 3-meter diving at 209.95. Senior Jana Hedstrom was fifth in the 1-meter diving at 207.70.

The Dragons' 400 freestyle relay was 3:44.80. That consisted of Bordak, Kampa, Woods and junior Amber Helgoe.

MSUM's 400 medley relay 'A' was third in 4:02.13. That consisted of sophomore Erin Sullivan, senior Jackie Woods, freshman Natalie Kampa and senior Annika Bordak.
