MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team ran into the No. 1-ranked team in the nation on Saturday and fell to Concordia-St. Paul, 25-19, 25-13, 25-19 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action in Moorhead, Minn.
MSUM fell to 12-7 overall and 5-6 in the NSIC with the loss while Concordia improved to 15-4 overall and 9-2 in the league.
It is the second time this season MSUM has faced at No. 1-ranked opponent (other one was Minnesota Duluth in September), and the Golden Bears were the fifth nationally-ranked opponent the Dragons have faced this year.

Amber Krenske had 17 digs to pace the Dragons, while senior setter
Casie Baer had 25 assists. Senior hitter
Abby Wolpern led with nine kills while sophomore hitter
Carly Masloski had six and senior
Kaitlin VanWinkle five. Wolpern led with three block assists.
MSUM hit just .099 for the match compared to .385 for the Golden Bears.
Note: Baer was honored prior to the match for surpassing 2,000 career set assists. She is the third Dragon senior to reach a milestone, joining VanWinkle (surpassing 1,000 kills) and Krenske (surpassing 1,000 digs).
