MOORHEAD, Minn. – Freshman Taylor Beynon, Sami DuVal and Natalie Kampa each won two events to lead the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's swimming and diving team to a 166-93 dual meet win over Concordia College in action Friday night at the Concordia pool in Moorhead, Minn.  The Dragons set five pool records and tied another on the night.

The Dragons are now 5-4 in duals this year.

MSUM set new pool records in the following events:
400 Medley Relay (Erin Sullivan, Jackie Woods, Natalie Kampa, Ashley Higgins) 4:04.34
100 Backstroke - Erin Sullivan 59.15
200 Backstroke - Erin Sullivan 2:11.41
100 Butterfly - Annika Bordak 1:00.95
200 IM - Taylor Beynon 2:16.78 (Tied the pool record)
200 Free Relay (A. Higgins, N. Kampa, E. Sullivan, J. Woods) 1:40.63

"Our plan for this meet was to put our freshmen in a position to compete to win the meet as most of the upper-class swimmers were seeded in the exhibition heats," MSUM head coach Todd Peters said.  "The freshmen really came through, securing the win and winning most of the events.  The upper-class, along with freshman Natalie Kampa on both relays, came through with five new pool records.  We pretty much achieved all the goals we set for the meet."

Kampa claimed two wins, winning the 200 free (2:02.33) and the 500 free (5:34.98).

DuVal swept the butterfly events. She captured the 100 butterfly in 1:02.83 and also won the 200 fly in 2:18.77. Beynon won the 200 breaststroke in 2:32.38 and also won the 200 IM (2:16.78).

Freshman Linnea Johnson won the 100 back in 1:03.91 while freshman Linnaya Luoma won the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.47

Freshman Lexi Heil won the 50 free in 26.86 while junior Kelly Engbring won the 1,650 free in 19:16.55.

Senior Emily Pascavis' combined score of 420.25 from both 1-meter events (248.5 for optionals, 171.75 for voluntaries) is a national pre-qualifying meet qualifying score.  The qualifying for 1-meter 11 dives is 390 points.

MSUM's 200 free relay won in the dual with a time of 1:46.63. That consisted of Johnson, freshman Josephine Hudoba, Luoma and freshman Michaela Rowan.

The Dragons will compete at the College of St. Benedict on Nov. 13 in St. Joseph, Minn.
