MOORHEAD, Minn.--Three seniors were honored on Saturday night for senior night as the Minnesota State University Moorhead's men's basketball team defeated St. Cloud State 94-76. Saturday was the last regular season home game for the Dragons, who were a perfect 14-0 at Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse this season.

With the win, the Dragons improved to 27-2 overall and 18-2 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. St. Cloud State dropped to 16-10 and 12-8 in the conference.

The Dragons shot 56.7 percent (34-of-60) from the field and 50 percent (10-of-20) from beyond the three-point line. MSUM held SCSU to 37.9 percent (25-of-66) from the field and 40.6 percent (13-of-32) beyond the three-point arc. The Dragons dished out 22 assists and forced 12 turnovers in the game.

Junior guard
Tyler Vaughan led the team in scoring with 23 points, had three assists, and five rebounds. Senior guard
Jordan Riewer led the team in rebounds and assists with seven and eight, respectively, while also chipping in 20 points (13 in the second half). Other Dragons to score in double digits were sophomore forward
Aaron Lien with 16, junior forward
Isaac Sevlie with 15, and junior guard
Ngijol Songolo with 12.

The first half was competitive with the biggest lead for either team being seven points. The Dragons faced a 16-11 deficit with 14:23 left in the half but scored the next seven points to take an 18-16 lead. Lien had five points during that run, including a breakaway dunk.

The Huskies held a 36-33 lead with 3:56 left in the half but the Dragons outscored them 12-4 to close the half to take a 45-40 lead into halftime. Riewer and Vaughan each had five points during that run to pace the Dragons.

Vaughan was the catalyst for MSUM with 13 first-half points while Lien had nine and Riewer seven. MSUM shot 57.1 percent (16-of-28) from the field in the first half, compared to 34.3 percent (12-of-35) for the Huskies. SCSU did hit 8-of-16 three-pointers in the first half, however.

MSUM's lead stood at 55-54 with 15:25 left before the Dragons went on a 14-5 run to extend the lead to 69-59. Riewer led the way with six points on two 3-pointers while junior guard Ngjiol Songolo added five. MSUM's lead was never less than 10 after that point, cruising to a 94-76 victory.

The Dragons hit the road to face Bemidji State at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20 in Bemidji, Minn.

Urbane Bingham have played in 51 games together with a record of 43-8 (Riewer missed seven games last year due to injury and Bingham did not play versus the University of Mary on Feb. 22, 2014). Their record together is 28-7 against NSIC opponents, 13-0 against non-conference opponents, and 24-1 at home (the only home loss the Dragons suffered when all three played in a game was the 109-107 overtime loss to Upper Iowa on Jan. 31, 2014 when Riewer suffered his injury).
