JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Pins from juniors
Blake Bosch and
Isaac Novacek led the way for the Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team in a 43-3 rout of Jamestown in a nonconference dual Tuesday night in Jamestown, N.D.
MSUM improved to 5-4 in duals this season while Jamestown fell to 3-9.
The Dragons also got bonus points from freshman
Austin May, who won by major decision at 184, and earned 18 points off of three forfeits.
"We wrestled OK," MSUM head coach
Kris Nelson said. "It's hard to get going when you have forfeits right away. Overall I thought we wrestled all right."
The dual started at 197, and the Dragons won by forfeit at both 197 and 285 to establish a 12-0 lead. Jamestown won at 125 to cut the lead to 12-3.
Bosch, ranked No. 2 at 133 pounds, improved to 22-5 on the season with a pin of Jamestown's Phillip Johnson in 1:20 to push the lead to 18-3.
MSUM won by forfeit at 141 to make it 24-3, and Novacek improved to 13-13 on the year with a pin of Jamestown's Brandon Aragon in 6:03 as the Dragons built a commanding 30-3 lead.
MSUM won the next three matches by decision, and all were close. Freshman
Dylan Connell edged Zachary Pickering, 12-10 at 157.

Adam Blees picked up another big win for the Dragons, edging Michael Nord – who was second at the NAIA national tournament in 2014-15 – by an 8-7 score at 165 to make it 36-3.
MSUM freshman
Brayden Kuntz won a hard-fought match at 174, edging Matthew Hernandez 2-1. May capped off the dual for MSUM with a 17-3 major decision victory over Daniel Tomaszewski at 184 to make the final score 43-3.
The Dragons host No. 2 St. Cloud State at 7 p.m. on Friday in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match.
