ST. PAUL, Minn. — Five Minnesota State University Moorhead players scored in double figures as the Dragon women rolled to a 77-59 win over Concordia-St. Paul in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Friday night in St. Paul, Minn.
MSUM is now 14-4 overall and 11-4 in the NSIC with the win while Concordia fell to 9-12 overall and 5-10 in the league.

Heather Strese had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead MSUM in both categories. Senior forward

MSUM shot 40.3 percent (29-of-72) from the field, compared to 36.2 percent (21-of-58) for the Golden Bears. MSUM had a 47-37 edge in rebounds, including 14-7 on the offensive glass.
Steve d'Eustachio Stat of the Game: Tonight marks the third consecutive victory over Concordia St. Paul which is the second longest winning streak over the Golden Bears in history. The longest was four, when the Dragons swept Concordia in the 1999-00 season under Jean Roise and the 2000-01 season under Karla Nelson.
The tone was set by the Dragons in the opening 3:19 as they outscored Concordia 13-2 to start the game. Thorson, Strese and Handevidt each hit threes during that stretch with Handevidt leading the way with five points.
Concordia cut the lead to 17-10 but the Dragons scored eight straight points — led by four from Sannes — to push the lead to 25-10 late in the first quarter. MSUM's lead never dropped below double digits the rest of the night.
MSUM, which led 45-29 at halftime, shot 48.6 percent (17-of-35) in the first half, compared to 36.7 (11-of-30) for the Golden Bears. Strese had 13 first-half points while Sannes had 11.
The Dragons remained in control in the second half, building the lead to as many as 25 points on their way to the 18-point win.
