SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team wrapped up the 2016 season with a 25-13, 25-20, 26-24 loss to Augustana in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Saturday in Sioux Falls, S.D.
MSUM finished 10-18 overall and 5-15 in the NSIC while Augustana improved to 26-4 overall and 17-3 in the league.
How it happened…
The Dragons fell behind 5-0 quickly in the opening set and never recovered in a 25-13 loss.
The second set was more competitive and the Dragons were within 17-15 after a kill by redshirt freshman
Sarah Hagler. But MSUM got no closer than two the rest of the way in a 25-20 loss.
The Dragons built a 19-16 lead in the third set after a kill by redshirt freshman
Ellie Rutten. A Hagler killed gave them a 24-23 lead and MSUM served for the set, but the Vikings scored three points in a row to take a 26-24 win.
The Dragons hit .253 for the match but Augustana hit .343.
