LAS VEGAS — Senior Blake Bosch went 4-0 and picked up his 100th career win to lead the Minnesota State University Moorhead to a 2-2 record at the Desert Duals in Las Vegas, Nev. on Monday.  The Dragons beat No. 4 Menlo, 20-16 and California Baptist, 27-23 while losing to Embry-Riddle, 23-20 and Wheeling Jesuit, 34-6.11019

MSUM is now 3-4 in duals on the season.

Bosch had a perfect 4-0 day with two wins by fall. His 100th career win came in his third match of the day when he pinned Cal Baptist's in 59 seconds. Bosch is now 101-34 for his Dragon career and is 21 wins away from tying the all-time school wins record held by MSUM Hall of Famer Nate Hendrickson, who was 122-13 in his Dragon career.

The Dragons opened against Embry-Riddle and bonus points were the difference, as Embry-Riddle recorded two wins by fall and two by major decision. Bosch got MSUM on the board win a pin of Collin Anderson in 2:20 at 133 pounds. Sophomore Dylan Connell won 7-3 at 149, while sophomore Adam Blees held on for a 6-5 win over Brenn Schiess at 174. Redshirt freshman Logan Rhode won by major decision at 184 to bring MSUM within 19-16. Embry Riddle won at 197 to take a 23-16 lead. Senior Nader Abdullatif won 11-2 at 285 to bring MSUM within 23-20 which was the final score.

Wrestling against Menlo, which is ranked No. 4 in NAIA, the Dragons were strong in the middle weights. Bosch won by major decision at 133 to tie the dual at 4-4, and after Menlo won at 141, the Dragons won four matches in a row. Connell (149) and senior Isaac Novacek (157) won by decision, while sophomore Brayden Kuntz won by fall at 165, pinning Josh Sowma in 5:22. Blees won by major decision at 174 to put MSUM 20-7. Menlo won the final three matches but MSUM's lead withstood the rally.

A pair of forfeit wins at 125 and 141 were key for MSUM against California Baptist. Including the two forfeits and Bosch's pin of Trent Smith at 133, the Dragons led 18-0.  Cal Baptist won at 149 but Novacek pinned Jacob Cooper in 57 seconds to push the lead to 24-3. Blees added his third win of the day with a 6-0 win at 174 to make it 27-8, which was an insurmountable advantage for MSUM.

The Dragons won two matches against Wheeling Jesuit. Bosch beat Nolan Whitely 6-3 at 133 while Abdullatif won 3-0 at 285.

MSUM is off until Jan. 13, 2017 when it hosts Upper Iowa to start the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference season.
