Red & White Dragon Athletics’ Celebration Set for Saturday, April 23

The Minnesota State University Moorhead Athletic Department's 11th Annual Red and White Celebration is scheduled on Saturday, April 23 at Nemzek Hall.  This year's day events include a youth soccer clinic, Scorch's Youth Fun Run, open swim, Dragon train rides, alumni games, football spring scrimmage, softball games and, food served from the Dragon grill.

The Dragon women's soccer team will hold a free soccer clinic for youths ages four through 14 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Nemzek Soccer Field.  The camp is designed for players at all levels from the Fargo-Moorhead community and surrounding area.  The soccer clinic is limited to 75 participants so sign up HERE.

Scorch's Youth Fun Run, which is sponsored by the MSUM Dragons 4 Wellness student organization, will be held at the Ron Masanz Track at Nemzek Stadium beginning at 11:30 a.m.  The fun run is also free and open to youth ages two through 14. All participants MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian. A medal will be awarded to all youth participating. Sign up for Scorch's Youth Fun Run HERE.

The Dragon women's basketball and volleyball teams will hold alumni games in Nemzek.  Volleyball is slated to begin at 11 a.m. For more information about the Dragon women's basketball alumni game, please contact Allison Swenson at allison.swenson@mnstate.edu.  For more information about the Dragon women's volleyball alumni game, please contact Katy Peterson at katy.peterson@mnstate.edu.

There also will be free fingerprinting for children on April 23  from 11:00 a.m.-1 p.m. at Nemzek Main Hallway.   Learn about the importance of fingerprinting your child, how fingerprinting is properly done, fingerprinting characteristics and bring your child's fingerprints home with you for FREE.  This service is sponsored by the MSU Moorhead Criminal Justice Association.

The Dragon Football spring scrimmage will also be held in the afternoon beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Scheels Field at Nemzek Stadium .  
The Dragon Women's Softball team plays a double header versus Minnesota Crookston at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.. at the Nemzek softball field. A full list of day events is available here.

To cap off the evening, the 2016 Spring Scholarship Gala is scheduled in the Comstock Memorial Ballroom to help raise funds for student scholarships which will benefit Athletics and Academic programs. The Champagne social begins at 4:30 p.m. with dinner and program following at 6:30 p.m.. Details about the event can be found at www.mnstate.edu/gala
