ST. CLOUD, Minn. – A pair of top three finishes by junior
Taylor Beynon led the way for the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's swimming and diving team at the second day of the St. Cloud State quad Saturday in St. Cloud, Minn. MSUM went 1-2 on the day in duals.
The shorthanded Dragons, who were missing a handful of key swimmers on Saturday, are 4-4 in duals this season. MSUM beat Northern State, 144-93 and lost to St. Cloud State, 188-54 and Northern Michigan 184-58.
"This weekend was all about getting experience for future meets," MSUM head coach
Todd Peters said. "When you compete and stay at the pool until 9:30 p.m. on Friday and then return for 8 a.m. warmups the next day, you can't expect fast times or top scores. The team maintained positive attitudes and took the opportunity to practice new skills in their races and on the boards."
Beynon was second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.23 and third in the 400 IM at 4:43.34 to lead the Dragons.
