BEMIDJI, Minn. – Despite a goal from sophomore
Marie Griffith, the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team fell to Bemidji State, 6-1 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Sunday in Bemidji, MInn.
MSUM fell to 1-7-3 overall and 1-6-2 in the NSIC while Bemidji State improved to 10-0-1 overall and 8-0-1 in the NSIC.
Bemidji State scored the first two goals of the game to take a 2-1 lead through 16 minutes. MSUM got on the board as Griffith scored off of an assist from junior forward
Jessica Dallman in the 35th minute to cut the lead to 2-1.
The Beavers added another first half goal and scored three more times in the second half to make the final count 6-1.
Senior goalkeeper
Reagan VonBerge had three saves in 45 minutes while sophomore
Kennedy Rodgers had one save.
Griffith led MSUM with two shots (one on goal) while Dallman had a shot on goal.
MSUM is on the road next weekend, starting Saturday at Concordia-St. Paul.
