The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team hits the road for the first time this regular season with a pair of nonconference games in Tampa, Fla. MSUM will face Anderson University (S.C.) at 10 a.m. Central time on Friday before facing Nyack College at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday.
The Dragons will meet both schools for the first time in women's basketball.
MSUM opened the season with a split against a pair of D2 nonconference foes. The Dragons lost to No. 21 Michigan Tech, 66-53 on Nov. 16 before coming back with a 74-63 win over Northern Michigan on Nov. 19. In the Michigan Tech game, sophomore forward
Megan Hintz scored a career-high 20 points while junior guard
Jacky Volkert led with 16 points and eight rebounds in the win over Northern Michigan.
Volkert leads MSUM at 15.0 points and 5.5 assists per game. Hintz is averaging 14.0 points per game while senior forward
Drew Sannes averages 10.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
MSUM averages 63.5 points per game and shoots 39.3 percent from the field. The Dragons are outrebounding their foes 34.0-31.0. The Dragons allow 64.5 points per game and teams are shooting 46.8 percent from the field.
Karla Nelson is in her 18th season as the MSUM head coach with a record of 303-183.
About Anderson (S.C.)
Anderson is 4-0 on the season. In their last action on Nov. 18, the Trojans defeated Erskine, 84-42. Anderson is receiving votes in the latest WBCA D2 Coaches Poll.
The Trojans average 85.0 points per game and shoot 44.1 percent from the field. Ace Easter averaged 15.3 points per game for Anderson while Alexis Dillard averages 13.5. Dillard leads at 8.5 rebounds while Madison Baggett leads at 3.8. assists Easter also leads at 4.3 steals per game.

Jocelyn Wright averages 6.8 rebounds per game while Khadijah Hickson and Yamalis Villegas each average 1.8 assists per game. Hickson leads at 2.0 steals per game. Nyack shoots 27.4 percent from the field.Nyack allows an average of 80.3 points per game and is being outrebounded 40.8-34.0.
