MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead men's basketball team fell to No. 13 Northern State University, 89-70. Three Dragons scored in double-digits but were unable to overcome a 25-point halftime deficit to the Wolves.
MSUM fell to 4-8 overall and 2-4 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play, while Northern State improved to 12-1, 6-0 NSIC.
Addison Park led the Dragons for the second consecutive game with 16 points, six rebounds, and one block. Senior guard
Tanner Kretchman had 14 points and recorded a season-high of nine assists. Junior forward
Jake Johnson scored career-high 12 points and added four rebounds. Four Dragons scored six points each including sophomore guard

The Dragons shot 50.9 percent (29-of-57) from the field compared to Northern State 57.4 percent (31-of-54). MSUM held a 27-25 edge on rebounds over the Wolves.
Northern went on a 12-4 run within the first five minutes of play which led them to a 53-28 lead going into halftime.
At the 15:29 mark of the second half, MSUM went on a 16-5 run to cut the deficit to 15 points. However, the Wolves answer back with 10 points over the next three minutes to regain their lead. Although MSUM outscored NSU in the second half, 42-36, the Dragons were unable to overcome the first half deficit, eventually falling, 89-70, to the Wolves.
The Dragons next game will be Dec. 30 when they play at Minnesota State, Mankato.
