MOORHEAD, Minn. – Minnesota State University Moorhead had 12 different players score as they improved to 19-4 overall and 14-3 in the NSIC on Friday night after beating the visiting Warriors of Winona State (10-11, 7-10 NSIC), 85-63. Senior guard
Aaron Lien led all scorers with 21 points.
With tonight's victory, and Upper Iowa's loss at Northern State, MSUM is in sole possession of first place in the NSIC.
How it happened…
MSUM scored early and often in a rout of Winona State, leading for a total time of 39:26. Lien got the game's first points of the night for a Dragons squad that opened the game on a 15-0 run.
The Warriors managed to pull the game within six in the first half, but that was all the closer they would get for the rest of the evening. MSUM led by as many as 17 points, and entered halftime up 46-30. Lien had a team-high 14 points for MSUM at halftime.
The Dragons lead never dipped below the 16-point halftime margin throughout the second half. MSUM eventually built their lead to 26 points before ending the game with a final score of 85-63.
The Dragons lead the Nation is fewest turnovers per game (8.7), and finished tonight's contest with just four turnovers to 19 assists. MSUM beat Winona State on the glass 36-32.
Impact Performances…
Senior guard
Aaron Lien had a team-high 21 points off 7-of-9 shooting from the field, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Lien also had eight rebounds and three assists.
Senior forward
Ayob Ayob added 14 points for the Dragons, to go along with three assists and one steal.
Senior guard
Jon Doss had 12 points and four rebounds, while junior guard
Tanner Kretchman had eight points and eight assists.

Including tonight's win, the Dragons are 25-4 in the month of February dating back to mid-February, 2013. The Dragons' only losses during this stretch were to Augustana three times, and once to the University of Minnesota Duluth on Feb. 8, 2013.
