Lien Named All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches

NABC All-American Team
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Minnesota State University Moorhead guard Aaron Lien was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) 2017 Coaches' Division II All-America Team on Tuesday. This is the first All-American honor for the senior.
 
The Moorhead, Minn. native led the Dragons this season in scoring, averaging 18.1 points per game. Lien scored in double figures in 26 out of the 30 games the Dragons played this season, including a career high 36 points against Northern State on Dec. 17. He averaged 56.5 percent from the field, hitting a team-high 44.4 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc.  Lien also led the Dragons in rebounding (5.5 per game) and free throw percentage (86.8).
 
This season, Lien continued to work his way up the career charts at MSUM. Lien finished his Dragon career tied for fifth place scoring all-time, ending with 1,679 points in 134 games. He moved into second all-time in three-point field goal attempts (535) and third all-time in three-point field goals made (227).
 
Lien finished his career as the winningest player in MSUM's history. He has played in every game since arriving on campus, going 110-24 over the past four seasons.
 
Lien has already garnered awards for his success this season. He earned the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Year, NSIC All-Conference First Team, D2CCA All-Central Region First Team and the NABC Division II All-District Central Region First Team. He has also earned a spot in the 2017 Reese's Division II All-Star Game.
 
The honorees were selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in Division II.
