Drew Sannes and sophomore forward
Megan Hintz combined for 40 points, 24 rebounds and four blocks to lead the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team to a 69-58 win over the University of Sioux Falls on Saturday night at Nemzek Fieldhouse. MSUM has now won 11 in a row, which is the longest active winning streak in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
Drew Sannes (42) is MSUM's all-time record
holder in career blocks after Saturday's win.
The Dragons are now 17-3 overall and 14-2 in the NSIC while the Cougars fell to 13-7 overall and 10-6 in the league.
Sannes also became MSUM's all-time leader in career blocks in the game. With her two blocks on Saturday she now has 211, one better than the previous record holder Jessica Fesenmaier.
Hintz had 21 points and 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. Sannes had 19 points and 13 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season. Junior guard

MSUM opened the game on an 8-0 run, thanks to five points from Hintz, on its way to a 20-7 lead after one quarter. The lead grew to as many as 16 in the second quarter as the Dragons took a 39-23 lead into halftime. Hintz had 17 points in the first half alone while Sannes had 14..
The Cougars cut the 16-point lead to seven at 53-46 with 6:42 left in the game, but the Dragons weathered the storm and pushed the lead back to 11 with a three-pointer from Volkert with 4:28 left. The lead never dropped below nine the rest of the night.

MSUM begins a stretch of four straight road games on Friday at Winona State.
Steve d'Eustachio Stat of the Game: With tonight's victory, the Dragons finished 8-0 in January for the first time since the 2004-05 season. The Dragons set the school record with 24 wins that season, which was tied in 2016-17, won the NSIC regular season crown, and advanced to the NCAA playoffs.
