MOORHEAD, Minn. — Senior
Kylee Billings scored a goal less than 10 minutes into the game which proved to be the game winner as the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team held on for a 1-0 win over Wayne State (Neb.). in action Friday at the MSUM Soccer Field.
The Dragons are now 3-9 overall and 3-7 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference while Wayne State fell to 3-8-1 overall and 3-6-1 in the league.
Billings scored her first goal as a Dragon off of a free kick in the first half. The Dragons survived heavy pressure from the Wildcats in the second half, thanks in large part to the play of freshman goalkeeper
Kayleigh Sedlacek, who had 11 saves for her second collegiate shutout.
"It was a super performance for the whole 90 minutes," Kopietz said. "Kylee totally deserves that goal after all the free kicks she has taken. Kayleigh had some unreal saves. I'm thrilled for the team and to the coaching staff."
MSUM was outshot 20-5 in the game, including 11-2 in shots on goal. Freshman
Carly Jo Gamrath had two shots, including one on goal.
