MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's swimming and diving team won its home opener on Friday with a 168-69 win over Northern State at the Nemzek Pool in Moorhead, Minn.
MSUM is now 2-0 in duals on the season.
Freshman
Katelin Winter picked up a pair of wins for MSUM. She won the 200 free in 1:59.92, edging senior teammate
Linnea Johnson, who was second in 2:01.15. Winter also won the 500 free in 5:24.66.
Senior
Amber Westereng won the 1-meter diving with a score of 233.50 with junior
Noelle Berg taking second at 205.85. Westereng completed the sweep later on with a win in 3-meter diving with a score of 234.55. Berg was second at 200.10.
Junior
Breah Anderson was victorious in the 50 free in 24.22.
Senior
Taylor Beynon won the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.15, edging teammate
Erin Fons in a thrilling race by .76 seconds. Beynon was second in the 400 IM in 4:42.99.
MSUM's 200 medley relay, consisting of freshman
Lexie Bray, Beynon,
Linnea Johnson and
Breah Anderson, won in 1:50.98.
Junior
Grace Moffat won the 1,000 free in 11:20.01 with junior
Megan Gates taking second at 11:26.87.
Freshman
Lexie Bray won the 100 backstroke in 1:02.23 with junior
Abby Kostiuk second in 1:04.39.
MSUM's 800 free relay was second in 8:08.33. That consisted of Johnson, Moffat, Gates and Winter.
The Dragons host Augustana at 10 a.m. on Oct. 27.
