SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team fell to the University of Sioux Falls 25-13, 25-19, 25-18 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
MSUM falls to 9-14 overall and 5-11 in the NSIC while USF improves to 16-8, 11-5 NSIC.

Madison Wassink led the team with seven kills, and fellow freshman outside hitter
Amanda Carlson followed with six. Sophomore setter
Lauren Kiewiet had 14 assists and her counterpart
Becca Koehn contributed 11. Senior libero
Monica Vega led the team with 12 digs and chipped in four service aces. Junior middle blocker
Kaylyn Jenkins had three blocks.
The Cougars jumped out to an early 11-0 lead in set one. Vega had back-to-back service aces to bring the score to 22-10, but the Dragons could not make a comeback and fell 25-13.
The second set was a different story as MSUM was able to keep the score close throughout much of the set. A block from Jenkins and freshman
Katelyn Selensky pulled the Dragons within one at 12-11, and a solo block from Jenkins tied the set 12-12. USF pulled away thanks to a seven-point scoring run and ultimately took the set 25-19.
In the third set, the Dragons took a 4-3 lead off a Kiewiet kill. The Cougars gained momentum and reclaimed the lead to force an MSUM timeout at 17-12. A three-point run from MSUM out of the timeout brought the score to 19-15 and forced a USF timeout. The Cougars were able to close out the match with a 25-18 set three victory.
The Dragons return home next weekend for their final homestand of 2018. MSUM takes on St. Cloud State on Friday at 6 p.m. and No. 7 Minnesota Duluth on Saturday at 4 p.m.
