MOORHEAD, Minn. – Four players scored in double figures as the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team rolled to a 95-44 exhibition win over Minnesota Morris Friday night in Moorhead, Minn.
MSUM went on a 21-0 first half run after trailing 19-18 and was in control from there. The Dragons led 45-26 at halftime.
Sophomore guard
Kiley Borowicz and redshirt freshman forward
Peyton Boom had 16 points each while junior forward
Megan Hintz added 14 and freshman guard
Natalie Steichen had 11. Junior forward
Madi Green and Boom each had seven rebounds while senior guard
Jacky Volkert had five assists. Hintz and Borowicz had three steals each.
The Dragons had a 40-21 edge in rebounds, including 17-5 on the offensive glass. The Dragons shot 57.7 percent (41-of-71) while holding the Cougars to 35 percent (14-of-40). MSUM forced 27 turnovers and had a 42-7 edge in points off of turnovers.
MSUM opens the regular season on Nov. 9 in Kansas City, Mo., against Arkansas Tech at the Central Region Challenge. Tipoff is 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
