MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead softball team dropped a pair of games to Concordia-St. Paul on Sunday, losing to the Golden Bears 11-3 and 9-0.

MSUM is now 11-23 overall and 4-12 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference while CSP improved to 26-18 overall and 11-11 in the league.

CSP pounded out 27 hits in the doubleheader, including eight extra-base hits. The Dragons were held to 10 hits in the two games.
"We had inconsistency with our hitting, our pitching and our defense this weekend," MSUM head coach
Kelsey Fehl said. "It is important for us to work towards being consistent in all phases of the game."
In the opener freshman first baseman Ashley McCance had a big game, going 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Junior shortstop

Freshman Becky Berth took the loss, giving up 11 runs (10 earned) in 6.1 innings. She struck out three. Sophomore
Payton Gaber pitched 0.2 innings of scoreless relief.
CSP scored five times in the first, keyed by a three-run triple, and added two more in the second to make it 7-1.
In Game 2, MSUM managed just two hits, singles by Roddie and Gaber. Roddie, Novacek and freshman outfielder Kylie Lange had stolen bases.
Sophomore
Tori White took the loss, giving up nine earned runs in 4.1 innings. She struck out one and walked one. Gaber pitched 0.1 innings of relief.
CSP outhit the Dragons 12-2 and recorded three extra base hits.
MSUM plays its final nonconference games of the season on Tuesday at neighboring rival Concordia College. The doubleheader is slated to begin at 4 p.m. on the Concordia campus.
