Chad Walthall earned his 300
th career win on Friday night as the Minnesota State University Moorhead men's basketball team earned an 80-78 victory over Bemidji State in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action.

The Dragons improve to 12-5 overall and 6-3 in the NSIC while the Beavers fall to 4-9 overall and 1-8 in the NSIC.

Senior forward
Addison Park led the team with 23 points and chipped in three rebounds. Freshman guard
Gavin Baumgartner and junior guard
Johnny Beeninga each record double-digit points with 13 and 12, respectively. Baumgartner led the Dragons with six rebounds. Freshman guard
Bryce Irsfeld had four assists on the night.

MSUM shot 51.7 percent (31-of-60) from the field compared to 50.0 percent (30-of-60) from BSU. Each team recorded 32 rebounds. Â

MSUM went on a six-point run in the first half to take a 16-13 lead at the 12:35 mark off an Irsfeld layup. BSU reclaimed the lead briefly before a three-pointer from Park tied the close at 19-19 with 11:34 remaining. The teams showcased back-and-forth action before the Dragons took control at the 2:41 mark and went on a 12-point run to take a 48-37 lead into halftime. Park had 18 points in the first half.

The Dragons saw their largest lead of the night as they went up 54-39 with 18:32 on the clock off a Beeninga layup. BSU went on an 11-point run to pull within two before a jumper from Baumgartner gave MSUM a 68-64 edge with 7:44 remaining. MSUM would see their lead dwindle as BSU brought the score to 80-78 off a made free-throw with :01 remaining, but the Beavers were unable to put away their rebound as MSUM held on for the 80-78 victory.
