SAN FRANCISCO -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team dropped two nonconference duals on Friday afternoon in San Francisco, losing to No. 23 Colorado Mesa 36-12 and losing to San Francisco State 25-18.

Against Colorado Mesa, the Dragons (1-4 duals) only managed to pick up two wins, with sophomores Cole Jones (125) and Sam Erckenbrack  (285) both winning via fall. Colorado-Mesa won three decisions, one major decision, one tech fall, one fall and one win via injury default.

Against San Francisco State, the Dragons lost the first two matches before sophomore Mason Schulz won via tech fall at 141 pounds. After forfeiting at 149 pounds freshman Braydon Ortloff won via fall at 157 pounds. Adam Blees won via decision at 174 pounds and Erckenbrack won via major decision but it wasn't enough for the Dragons to pull out a win.

The Dragons will be back in action on Saturday morning when they compete at the Menlo (CA) Invitational. They will resume NSIC play on Jan. 11-12 when they travel to Bismarck to face the University of Mary and Minot to face the Minot State Beavers.
