SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's swimming and diving team, led by a win from freshman diver
Alexis Yliniemi , recorded five top five finishes at the final day of the Sioux Falls Quad Dual, which wrappe up Satruday at the Midco Aquatic Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.
As team MSUM finished 0-3, losing duals to Augustana, Sioux Falls and Minnesota State.
Yliniemi won the 3-meter diving for her first collegiate win. She had a score of 199.90.
Sophomore
Katelin Winter was third in the 200 free in 1:55.87 as she continued her strong start to the season.
Senior
Breah Anderson was fourth in the 50 free in 24.26 and was sixth in the 100 IM in 1:02.04.
Senior
Leticia Esteves Rodovalho had a good day, taking fifth in the 200 fly in 2:15.7. She also swam a 1:01.06 in the 100 fly. Senior
Erin Fons had her second top five finish of the weekend, taking fifth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.78.
MSUM's 200 medley relay was sixth in 1:51.85; that consisted of sophomore
Lexie Bray, Fons, Winter and Anderson.
MSUM's 400 free relay, consisting of Anderson, Bray, Fons and Winter, was sixth in 3:44.15.
Junior captain
Julia Wallace had a career-best split in the 200 medley relay, breaking 30 seconds for the first time in her career with a split of 29.96. She also swam a 2:19.01 in the 200 back. Senior
Megan Gates was eighth in the 400 IM in 5:02.58 which is one of her fastest pre-rest times of her career. Lexi Bray was eighth in 1:01.96
Senior
Abby Kostiuk swam a solid 2:17.96 in the 200 back.
MSUM is off until Nov. 14-15 when it competes at the St. Thomas Invite.
