MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team wraps up the regular season this week with pair of huge Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games.  The Dragons host St. Cloud State at 2 p.m. on Wednesday and then will travel to Northern State for a 3 p.m. game on Friday.

MSUM is still alive for a berth in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament and will need two wins this week to keep those hopes alive. Each NSIC win is worth three points, and MSUM currently sits at 15 points; eighth-place Wayne State is at 20 points while Winona State is at 18. The Dragons, St. Cloud State, UMary and Northern State are the only four NSIC teams with two games left on the schedule.

The Dragons are coming off of a weekend sweep, beating Bemidji State 1-0 on Friday thanks to the first-career goal from junior defender Lauren Phillips. That was the Dragons' first win over the Beavers since 2008. On Sunday, senior defender Lindsey Brownell and sophomore defender Kaylee Parsons had goals in a 2-1 win over Minnesota Crookston. Sophomore goalkeeper Kayleigh Sedlacek picked up two wins and didn't allow a goal in more than 150 minutes of action.

Sedlacek is 5-4-4 in goal on the season with five shutouts. She has 84 saves and a 1.03 goals allowed average.

Freshman forward Mckenzie Ickert has three goals, three assists and three points for MSUM while junior midfielder Jensen Odegaard has two goals, two assists and six points. Brownell has two goals, an assist and five points while senior Maren Soupir has two goals.

Christie Kopietz is in her fourth season as the MSUM head coach.
